December 31, 2009

We met with the doctor today and didn't receive the news we hoped for. Mom has stage 4 inoperable pancreatic cancer. She is scheduled to begin IV chemotherapy tomorrow at MD Anderson and will continue to do so every two weeks. MD Anderson has proven to be a place of great compassion and expert knowledge, and we know that God has guided Mom here to receive the best treatment possible. Because of this, Mom and Dad will be staying in Houston with their son and daughter-in-law until further notice. Trudie is doing fine.....she continues to outrun all of us, and is anxious to get started with treatment. God is so good, and we continually and faithfully see His hand working in everything. Please continue with us in this faith, and keep Jim and Trudie in prayer for healing, strength and comfort.

And we're off!

December 29,2009
When they said Trudie should be prepared for a 12 hour day at MD Anderson....they meant it. She got there at 7:00a.m. and didn't leave until 7:00p.m. It was a long day of blood tests, waiting, xrays, waiting, CAT scans, and waiting. She didn't receive any results or updated information....that will come Thursday morning when we go back to meet with the doctor. As always, when it was time to leave the hospital, Trudie walked faster than all of us and beat us out the front door. She continues to be amazingly strong in body, spirit and faith. Thank you for all the prayers and positive thoughts. More info on Thursday.....
